About Dr. Uriel Katz, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Uriel Katz is a specialist in Allergy, Immunology, Internal Medicine as well as a researcher in biological sciences. In 1997 Dr. Katz obtained his medical degree (M.D.) in Cayetano Heredia University in Lima, Peru. Between 1996-1997 Dr. Katz worked as an investigator in joint research projects held by the research institute of the American navy (U.S. Naval Medical Research Institute Detachment-NAMRID) and Asociación Benéfica Prisma in the fields of immunology and epidemiology in Peru. In 1998 Dr. Katz immigrated to Israel. Between 1998-2003 Dr. Uriel Katz studied towards a doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in biological sciences in Prof. David Mirelman's laboratory at the Weizmann Institute of Science, receiving in 2000 an award for his scientific achievements. Between 2003-2007 Dr. Katz undertook his Internal Medicine specialization in Prof. Yehuda Shoenfeld's Department at the Tel HaShomer Hospital. In 2006 Dr. Katz received the Award for the Outstanding Physician of the  Tel HaShomer Hospital. In 2007 he was awarded with the Talpiot Scholarship of the Tel HaShomer Hospital. Between 2007 and 2009 Dr. Katz undertook his specialization in Allergy and Immunology in Dr. Amir Tanay's Allergy Unit at Wolfson Hospital. He was awarded in 2008 with the Prof. Katzenelenbogen z"l research grant by the Sackler Faculty of Medicine of the Tel Aviv University, where he was a Faculty Instructor between 2005-2010. Since 2010 Dr. Katz works as an Allergy specialist.

Hay fever, nasal allergy or allergic rhinitis

Allergic rhinitis is characterized by many symptoms (not all symptoms must be present): continuous sneezing, itchy and runny nose with transparent and liquid nasal secretions, itchy palate, nasal congestion ("stuffy nose").
